Creating Learning Environments – Nelson Bay
The environment that we provide for children sets the scene for their play. While it can be easy to be drawn into beautiful images of well-designed play spaces, it is important to understand how and more importantly WHY we create the environment in the way that we do. The indoor and outdoor environments for preschoolers are key to engaged children.
During this session, we will explore:
– How the physical environment (colours, sounds, visual clutter and more) impacts on children’s wellbeing and play.
– How to create and maintain environments that respond to children’s play and interests
– Who has ownership over the environment and what does this look and feel like?
Using creative ideas, visual and practical experiences, our facilitator will engage educators and support them to step out of their comfort zones and rethink the physical environment!
