"We are delighted to offer you the opportunity to download and PIY (Print it Yourself!) We know that postage can be a killer, so have provided this alternative. Once your purchase is complete, you will be prompted to download PDF Files. Please ensure that you save these to a safe place on your device. We recommend saving to a computer, rather than phone or tablet. You will be able to print the poster in your preferred size. Please note that the file is for your use only, as outlined above and is not to be shared or distributed in any other way."
Why did we create these posters?
We know Risky Play can be worriesome. At times families may question the value in such play in our early childhood settings. As educators, we understand that risky play offers children a wide range of developmental opportunities, yet may need support in advocating for its benefits.
We created these posters to share the benefits of these types of play with families, to put language around it. We also hope that educators will find them beneficial, using them to support their documentation of play.
This set includes 8 Categories of Risky Play:
- Rough and Tumble Play
- Play with Dangerous Elements
- Play with Dangerous Tools
- Vicarious Play
- Play at Great Heights
- Play at High Speed
- Play with Impact
- Play where children feel like they can disappear
Each poster contains three key benefits for the risky play type, with a paragraph on each and engaging colour photographs.
